ZTT To Release 25th Anniversary Box Set

Influential London-based record label Zang Tuum Tumb is celebrated on "The ZTT Box Set" released in the United Kingdom on Nov. 17 to mark its 25th year of operations.
The box set is issued through Union Square Music's reissues imprint Salvo. The label's achievements are spread across three CDs, with the first containing hits from the likes of 808 State, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and the recent U.K. success from David Jordan, "Move On." The second highlights ZTT's involvement in dance music, featuring tracks by David Morales, Afrika Bambaataa and Bjork. The third focuses on some of the artists nurtured by ZTT over the years, including Sinead O'Connor, Kirsty MacColl and Seal.
The box set also contains a DVD including a previously unreleased video remix of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Two Tribes" by directors Godley and Creme, a rare Shane MacGowan video (directed by and starring Johnny Depp) and Anton Corbijn's first video (Propoganda's "Dr Mabuse"), amongst several other film clips.
A 72-page book documents the history of ZTT and includes a first-time entry from ZTT co-founder and journalist Paul Morley on his time with the label, alongside artist biographies, interviews and photos.
In conjunction with the Anniversary, a three-week exhibition of ZTT sleeve art will run at London's ArtVinyl gallery until Oct. 22. ZTT was formed in 1983 by Morley, producer Trevor Horn and artist manager Jill Sinclair. The label has produced six No. 1 and 20 Top 40 hits.
