IMPALA Sales Award Winners Announced

Pan-European independent labels body IMPALA has named Adele, Pink Martini and Scooter as recipients of platinum sales awards for European shipments of 500,000 units.
In the latest round of IMPALA awards, Adele earned the accolade for her Mercury Music Prize-shortlisted soul debut, "19" (XL Recordings); Latin pop/jazz ensemble Pink Martini joined the list for its latest, "Sympathique" (Naïve); and German techno stalwart Scooter was recognized for "Jumping All Over the World" (Kontor Records).
Also announced were 4 diamond, 18 gold and 38 silver award-winners.
The IMPALA Sales Awards are solely for independent artists. To date, IMPALA has certified over 550 acts for shipments of 30,000 and over, representing more than 55 million CDs sold.
