Morris To Receive City of Hope Honor

Doug Morris, chairman/CEO of Universal Music Group (UMG), has been named the 2008 recipient of the City of Hope's Spirit of Life Award.

Morris will receive the award at the 2008 Spirit of Life Award dinner on Oct. 15 in Santa Monica, Calif. The philanthropic honor recognizes individuals who have committed their time and resources to helping those in need.

As chairman/CEO of UMG, Morris is responsible for guiding the overall global activities of the world's largest music company. Throughout his career, Morris has worked artists including U2, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Nicks, Bette Midler, Tori Amos, INXS and Mariah Carey, among many others.

Founded in 1913, the City of Hope is a leading Southern California biomedical research and treatment center, and hospital for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
