August 24, 2010

By By Richard Smirke, London

Warner/Chappell Music has extended its worldwide publishing administration deal with Pink Floyd founder member Roger Waters.

The deal includes songs that Waters composed and co-wrote during his time in Floyd, including "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," "Time," "Another Brick In The Wall Part II" and "Wish You Were Here," taken from the 1975 studio album of the same name.

In a statement Richard Manners, managing director, Warner/Chappell U.K. paid tribute to the best-selling artist calling Waters "an iconic songwriter, lyricist and musician."

"Each generation discovers these phenomenal albums anew, and their wide-reaching influence and popularity continues to grow," Manners continued, adding, "We're delighted Roger entrusts these songs to Warner/Chappell on a global basis, and we're looking forward to the work ahead."

As previously reported, Waters begins his tour of "The Wall" in Toronto on Sept. 15. European dates follow next year, beginning at Lisbon Atlantico Pavilion on March 21.
