Bonnier Amigo Becomes Cosmos Music

August 31, 2010

By By Andre Paine, London

Bonnier Amigo Music Group, the leading Nordic independent music company, has been renamed Cosmos Music Group.

Each of the local affiliates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland will take the new name, with immediate effect.

The change follows a strategic and structural overhaul in 2010, following the management buy out of the Stockholm-based company, which was completed in December 2009. In July the company began dismantling its distribution center in Skara and distribution has been outsourced to ENS.

The Amigo label, originally launched in 1966, will remain as a label within the Cosmos Music Group.

Cosmos marked its new era with a showcase of local and international talent from its roster in Stockholm last Friday (Aug. 27). Performers included Jasmine Kara, Magnus Carlson and the Moon Ray Quintet, Edith Backlund, John Grant and the Magic Numbers.
