Universal Music Group revenues increased 9.1% to $1.28 billion in the first quarter of 2012. Earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (EBITA) grew 47% to $90.8 million. Streaming service Deezer has signed a global licensing deal with independent rights agency Merlin which will bring labels, including Warp, Yep Roc, Epitaph, Tommy Boy, !K7, Merge, Koch to the digital platform.
