Though rumors are flying as to why Van Halen pulled the plug on the final 30 dates of the band’s current tour, according to a reliable source close to the tour, the premature ending is not due to illness, injury, internal strife or lagging ticket sales. Universal Music Group revenues increased 9.1% to $1.28 billion in the first quarter of 2012. Earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (EBITA) grew 47% to $90.8 million. Bass player and songwriter Donald "Duck" Dunn, a member of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame band Booker T. and the MGs and the Blues Brothers as well as a studio musician for the legendary Stax studios who played with countless musicians including Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Jerry Lee Lewis and later in Los Angeles Rod Stewart, Neil Young, Eric Clapton and others, has died in Tokyo.
